After reading more and more about the Gizmondo, i need to know what it actually can do.

Can it still:

Use satnav

Browse the web

Have online play on games?

And lastly, use the messaging. (I saw something about topping up your gizmondo, does this mean that you have to pay for texting and messaging)

Other than all this, i just want to know what the device can do, i know the features i just want to know which ones still work.

sat nav = YES (look at Lister's massive list of different sat navs that work!)

Web = Sort of, using the grps via mobile sim (ie slow and expensive )

messaging = yes, text messaging via the sim card (just like on a mobile) so, same cost as via mobile.

Online Games = Only Via Bluetooth as far as i know, not really played games on mine much

As DaveMM says, it can do all that and more.....

The Giz is still capable of all the things previously listed that it can do with the Exception of:

Internal GPS Features, such as Location Based.... like, Where's my nearest
Tracking (KidSafe)
SmartAds
Online Giz Registration.....


Other than that, all software packages still work, SatNavs, Games, Picture/Text Messaging, and more.....

Must get around to doing all my other SatNav Guides some day.....

yes,you top up the sim, because you just use a normal pay as you go mobile sim card, so it works the same as your mobile.

Also there is no online play - there never was

)However I would point out, from my own experience, that the Sat-Nav is virtually useless. It's supposed to be quite reliable if you have the official car cradle + ariel kit, but those generally sell for more than the Giz itself!
